Slippas[1] are snake enemies which appear in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land. They are red with black stripes and resemble the real world coral snake.

In their debut appearance, Donkey Kong Country, Slippas appear in four levels: Reptile Rumble, Millstone Mayhem, Elevator Antics, and Misty Mine. Slippas mostly appear in cave levels except Millstone Mayhem, which takes place in a temple. Slippas move by quickly slithering on the ground. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong can defeat Slippas by using any attack, including rolling, jumping, or throwing a barrel at them. When a Slippa is defeated, it makes a hissing noise. In Misty Mine, there are some Black Drums that release an indefinite number of Slippas.

During the boss level Boss Dumb Drum, Slippas are the second pair of enemies that Dumb Drum releases to fight the Kongs.

In the Game Boy Advance version, the Kongs can obtain a photograph of Slippa if they roll into three of them in a row.

Donkey Kong Country novel

A single Slippa appears as a minor antagonist in the Donkey Kong Country novel. As the Kongs explore the Abandoned Mines, Slippa and Army ambush the group. Slippa proclaims that "thessse minesss are oursss" and attempts to attack Diddy, but Diddy stomps him with a double jump. Slippa then escapes back into the darkness.

Donkey Kong Land

Donkey Kong encounters Slippas slithering down ropes in Riggin' Rumble

Slippas reappear in Donkey Kong Land, where they have slightly different role than in Donkey Kong Country. They appear in many more levels and in a wider variety of environments, including mines, jungles, and skyscrapers. Slippas sometimes pop out of baskets.

In Riggin' Rumble, Slippas slither down the ropes until they reach the bottom. These Slippas are invincible, and even if either Kong rolls into them, they are injured by the Slippa.

Slippas appear in fifteen levels:
