Skeleton is a Bobsleigh Event that appears in Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The objective of the event is to complete the course in the fastest time, with the event taking place at the Sanki Sliding Center. Toads and Chao appear as referees in this event.

GameplayEdit

In this event, the player starts by repeatedly pressing   and   after the "Go!" signal appears onscreen to build up speed and start running. The faster the player starts pressing after "Go!", the faster their start will be, and more speed can be built up by pressing the buttons more times after the player has started. When the player approaches the starting line, they must swing the GamePad upwards to board their sled, with a swing closer to the line allowing them to perform a faster start. Once the player begins travelling down the course, they can steer their character left or right by tilting the GamePad in the respective direction, and can turn faster by holding   or   while turning. The course features a boost line, which if the player remains on for an extended period of time, will allow them to fill the boost gauge. The boost line gets smaller as the event continues, making it harder to gain more boosts. Once the boost gauge is full, the layer will travel at a much higher speed for a while, however the boost gauge will constantly deplete as the player boosts, but will do so at a slower rate if the player remains on the boost line while boosting. The boost gauge also depletes faster when being filled if the player veers off the boost line. The character that completes the course in the fastest time wins the event.
