The Shy Squad is General Guy's personal army of Shy Guys in Paper Mario. They are first encountered shortly before the boss battle against General Guy in Shy Guy's Toy Box. The Shy Squad is followed by two battalions: the Stilt Guys and Shy Stacks, before General Guy himself can be battled.
The Shy Squad is similar to the X-Naut squad headed by Lord Crump in that they both appear in a large cluster, they have HP relevant to their numbers, and there is a particular member that trips a lot. They attack by mobbing Mario, then attack in quick succession, taking away one HP for each hit. How many times they attack depends on how many Shy Guys are left in the Squad. With excellent timing, it is possible to defend every attack they do, nullifying damage.
Despite Shy Guys having low, squeaky voices, the Shy Squad always has a high-pitched, feminine shriek.
