Template:Minigame-infobox Shy Guy Says is a 4-player minigame in Mario Party and Mario Party 2. The version from the original Mario Party is also included in Mario Party: The Top 100. Its name is a reference to the real life game, "Simon Says".

Gameplay

Players have to raise the same color flag as the Shy Guy (which is actually a Pirate Guy in all but the Mario Party 2 versions). If one of the players raises the wrong color flag or doesn't raise any flag, the Shy Guy kicks the player out of the minigame. Sometimes, the Shy Guy will try to trick all of the players by raising two color flags at once. The last player standing wins. In the Mario Party: The Top 100 version of the game, the Pirate Guy has its Mario Party 8 appearance.

In Mario Party 2, a bypassing Lakitu serves as timestamp for the game - if the player does not trigger their flag-raising button before Lakitu has gone offscreen, the Shy Guy will pop their balloon. The Shy Guy can also raise a flag after lowering it and lower the other one when he tries to trick the players.
