Shooting - Pistol is an Event that appears in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It is set in the Royal Artillery Barracks. The objective of the event is to shoot targets to earn points. The starting Olympic record in this event is held by Waluigi at 290 points.

Gameplay

This events starts with the player's character being announced, before the character starts. The player must point the Wii Remote at the screen and press B Button or A Button. The closer the player is to the center, the closer to the targets the camera will zoom. After zooming in, the player must shoot the five shots on five targets within the time limit. The player shoots with B Button or A Button. If a player shoots a target twice, only the first shot is counted and the player loses two points. The player can also hit a yellow target worth double the points of a normal. After all shots have been fired or time ends, the announcer then reveals the player's place. If multiple people are playing, it goes to the next person. It then goes to the next round and goes through the list again, but without a special character announcement. Instead, it will say, the characters name and "Beginning play", where the player needs to hit A Button to do it again. There are six rounds: the first in a straight line with ten seconds, the second in an x form with smaller circles and with nine seconds, the third in a straight line but with numbers showing order and with eight seconds, the fourth in a straight line but become smaller after some time and with eight seconds, the fifth in an x form but the boards turn and with seven seconds, the sixth and final in a straight line that moves up and down and with seven seconds. At the end, the scores are totaled and used for the player's place. However, if there is a tie in points, the player with the fastest time is the winner.
