Template:Minigame-infobox Settle It in Court is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Let's settle it in court," which traditionally refers to a judicial court rather than a basketball one. This minigame is similar in concept to that of Three Throw from Mario Party 4.

Introduction

The player is on a basketball court, among a Shy Guy and many Goombas. The Shy Guy throws the player a basketball, and they shoot it. The game begins after that.

Gameplay

The Shy Guy throws balls from the side, and there is a meter at the top of the screen, with a basketball going from right to left across it, one at a time. When the ball icon reaches the yellow marker at the center, the player must swing the Wii Remote forward to make the shot. Occasionally, a Goomba icon will slide across. When it reaches the marker, the player must press the A Button or B Button button and swing, and the Goomba will give the player an assist. The speed the icon goes across varies. Whoever has more baskets after 30 seconds is declared the winner.

Ending

The winning player does the victory dance, as well as the Shy Guy and the Goombas, which are jumping.

Test for the Best

In Test for the Best, the player plays alone in this minigame and must sink as many baskets as possible within 30 seconds. The scores required to earn a certain point total are as follows:
