Sea Urchin
- Not to be confused with Invincible Urchin or Urchin.
Sea Urchins[1] are purple, spiky aquatic enemies with large eyes appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Due to their spikes, they cannot be touched, and can only be defeated using Cranky Kong's cane. They are usually found in groups, moving about on their own or by the force of water currents.
Sea Urchins are most commonly found underwater in Sea Breeze Cove, although they first appear in the Lost Mangroves' boss stage, Big Top Bop, where Pompy occasionally throws Sea Urchins onto the stage, which bounce along it a few times before retreating into the water. In the boss stage of Sea Breeze Cove, Fugu Face-Off, Fugu spits out Sea Urchins as projectiles.
These enemies are not to be confused with other urchin-like balls encountered in the game. The appearance of those is closer to that of real life sea urchins, as they lack eyes and seem more rigid. They can only be destroyed when found above the water, such as in Rockin' Relics, using a Cane Bounce.
