History

Mario Kart DS

The Royale first appears in Mario Kart DS as Peach's special choice of kart. It has high acceleration tying with the B Dasher, Standard MR, Standard LG, Streamliner, Standard PC and Light Dancer. Its weight is shared with the B Dasher, Standard DK, Brute, Standard WL and the Zipper. The kart has high drift and items and fairly low speed tying with the Standard TD, Mushmellow and low handling tying with the Standard DS. It is the heaviest kart within the lightweight class. To let any character use the kart, the player must win all gold trophies on 150cc Mirror cups. When the player can choose among seven karts, Yoshi and Toad can use this kart.

Mario Kart Tour

The Royale returns in Mario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a Super kart. It uses the Standard tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, although the original trailer showed it with the Slick tires from the two games instead. The kart offers extended slipstreams and awards additional points for performing one. This game introduces a white variant, simply named the White Royale, which is also classified as a Super kart.

The kart is available in the Shop's pipes and is also a part of the Daily Selects set. Throughout the game's history, it has also been obtainable through other means. The following table lists instances of special availability for the Royale by tour.
