Template:DKClevelbox Ropey Rumpus is the thirtieth level in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! It is also the fifth and final non-boss level of Razor Ridge.

During this level, the heroes will scale a large mountain with the assistance of long tightropes. These horizontal and vertical tightropes can be found all over the level, and the Kongs will even climb on them more than they move on land. Danger still lurks in the air, however, as the common foes, Buzzes, appear all around the tightropes, swarming in many different patterns to faze the Kongs. Parry the Parallel Bird appears in this cliff level, and if they can get the bird past the No Animal Sign without losing it, they will find a special prize.

Level layout

The level begins with a small tunnel leading to a long tightrope. Climbing across this rope, the heroes will avoiding some Buzzes and move along some small platforms to walk through a small tunnel again. They will grab onto another tightrope after that and climb across to find more Buzzes. Once they dodge the pests, they will go through another tunnel to find a set of ropes to help them reach a higher part of the mountain. As they hop up each rope, they will dodge many red and green Buzzes. Heading west into another tunnel, the group will find the letter K and travel across the next tightrope. The tightrope will lead them over a very large abyss, though it will also be surrounded by restless Buzzes, swarming all around. Soon, the Kongs will hop up a few small tightropes and make a 180 degree turn to a higher area. As they climb up the tightropes in this direction, they will maneuver over and under several more Buzzes until they find another area with many tightropes, all parallel to each other. Getting up these ropes without being disturbed by the Buzzes in the center of them, the heroes will make their way to the Star Barrel.

About halfway into the level, the apes will clamber between some more Buzzes and enter another area full of parallel tightropes. Dodging the enemies flying quickly around the area, the Kongs should climb up all the ropes and begin to travel west again on a longer tightrope. They will jump over more Buzzes on the way and soon find the letter N on solid ground. Heading through a small tunnel, they will hop up another set of parallel ropes and make it to a higher area of the mountain. There, they will meet Parry the Parallel Bird and move across a long, straight path of tightropes. Climbing along the tightropes, they will dodge many more Buzzes, most of them moving in circular motions, until they find the letter G, as well as the No Animal Sign, which will turn Parry into a Bonus Barrel if it survived the journey. Just a little farther from there, Dixie and Kiddy will find a flagpole. If they raise its flag, the level will end.

Secrets

Bonus Levels

  • Under the letter K on a wooden platform, the Kongs will see a TNT Barrel. They should carry this barrel down the area, jumping to the right and avoiding many Buzzes. They will land on a small platform on the side of the mountain once this is done. Blowing away the wall with the TNT Barrel, the entrance to the first Bonus Barrel will be revealed. It will take the Kongs to a Bonus Level, where they will need to climb across a long tightrope while dodging several Buzzes. At the end of the area, they will find a Bonus Coin.
  • After the letter N, the heroes will find Parry the Parallel Bird in its crate. Once they free the creature, they should guide it to the No Animal Sign, which will turn the bird into a Bonus Barrel. Going into the barrel, they will end up in a Bonus Level, where they will have to collect many green bananas while moving along a Buzz surrounded tightrope. Once enough bananas are collected, a Bonus Coin will appear to the right.

DK Coin

  • A little before the letter N, the Kongs will move to the left across a tightrope, hopping over three green Buzzes. Dropping down from this rope, they should land in a large alcove with a Koin in it. This enemy will have the DK Coin, and the Kongs will need to beat him to get it. His shield will protect him from most of their attacks, but if they use a nearby steel barrel, they can knock him out. This can be done by standing on the foe and throwing the keg at a wall. The barrel will bounce back and hit the distracted Kremling. Once the enemy is defeated, the heroes will be able to grab the DK Coin.
