Not to be confused with Rollercoaster.

Template:Item-infobox Roller Coasters[1] are large carts shaped as a skull head, with red eyeballs. They appear in three games, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Donkey Kong Land 2, and Donkey Kong 64. In its first two appearances, Roller Coasters can be considered the successors of the Mine Carts from Donkey Kong Country. Klanks ride these vehicles in some of the amusement park stages.

History

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest / Donkey Kong Land 2

Roller Coasters appear in three levels of Donkey Kong Country 2. Diddy and Dixie ride on Roller Coasters in the Krazy Kremland level, Target Terror. Here, they must frequently hop between Roller Coasters before it collapses down a pit. Roller Coasters also appear in Rickety Race, where the Kongs must race and defeat several Klanks. Their final appearance is in Haunted Hall, where the Kongs race on a Roller Coaster during a pursuit from the Kackles.

Roller Coasters retain their purpose in Donkey Kong Land 2, and also appear in three levels. Their first two appearances are in the level counterparts, Target Terror and Rickety Race. Their third and final appearance is in a newly added, generic rollercoaster stage, Krazy Koaster, and is similar to Target Terror's.

In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2, Roller Coasters have a light green eye color.

Donkey Kong 64

Roller Coasters have an entirely different role in Donkey Kong 64, and only appear in Donkey Kong's Mine Cart Ride in Creepy Castle. Unlike their previous appearance, Roller Coasters act as stage hazards. They are summoned by Resident Demon and carry TNT Barrels. Roller Coasters explode upon hitting Donkey Kong, who then loses three coins.
