Roll Call is a 4-player minigame found in Mario Party 2. The minigame returns in the minigame compilation title, Mario Party: The Top 100.

The name refers to the real life term, a "roll call", to be performed by the leader of a group (typically, an army or a classroom) checking to see who is present and who is absent.

Gameplay

Mario Party 2

Players have to count the Toads, Boos, or Bob-ombs. For the Toads, players can count the moving ones instead of the mushrooms on the grounds. For the Boos, they can appear and disappear. For the Bob-ombs, players only count Bob-ombs that do not explode. The player who has the same count as the blue count at the top of the screen when roll call comes wins. If no count matches the blue count at the top of the screen when the character count is totaled, the minigame ends in a draw. Also, it is possible to have all 4 players win this minigame, if they all have the same count and the blue count at the top of the screen matches.

Mario Party: The Top 100

Only Bob-ombs appear in the Mario Party: The Top 100 edition of this minigame. Gameplay is the same, but players are now ranked based on how close they are to the count at the top. Players who are correct (have the same count as the count at the top) receive 1st place, other players are ranked based on how close they are to the correct count. A draw will only result if no count matches the correct count and all 4 players were the same distance in relation to the correct count.
