Reporter John is a minor character that appears in Game & Wario. Being a reporter dog, he is comparable to Ken the Reporter and Rocky the Reporter.
At the start of the game, Wario is seen watching his television. After flicking through several channels, he finds one where a man is seen playing a game. Reporter John then appears, stating that a new method of playing video games, that with two screens, is launching. He then states that "this system is as cool as it gets". This inspires Wario to design games to earn large quantities of money.
Later in the game, after the Pirates minigame, Reporter John reappears, reporting at Toy Express that the game is a hit, and that the fans are exited. Wario shoves himself into the report, shocking Reporter John. Wario comments that he designed the game. Reporter John is not seen for the rest of the cutscene.
While Reporter John does not reappear in WarioWare Gold, Ben's Rank A character card mentions that Ben follows in Reporter John's steps, and that they, alongside Ken the Reporter, occasionally have lunch together.
