The Red & Blue Goomba Bros. (or Red and Blue Goomba Bros.), also simply called the Goomba Bros., are two Goombas known as Red Goomba and Blue Goomba in Paper Mario. They serve the Goomba King, who is under King Bowser's orders to stop Mario and Goombario from getting to Toad Town. They are first encountered and fought at the end of Goomba Road. Upon defeat, the Red & Blue Goomba Bros. start to cry and retreat in shame. They appear a short time later in the Goomba King's Fortress, where they aid the Goomba King himself in battle, but all three of them are defeated. The Red & Blue Goomba Bros. later send a letter to Goombario, saying that they admire his strength and would like to become friends.
The game's victory parade shows the Red & Blue Goomba Bros. alongside the Goomba King.
Battle
In battle, the Red & Blue Goomba Bros. are essentially more powerful Goombas: they have an attack power of 1, and their only form of offense is headbonking Mario. The only notable difference is the higher HP; Red Goomba has 7 HP and Blue Goomba has 6 HP. This is still enough to provide a sufficient threat to Mario, as he does not have access to Action Commands yet, including the ability to guard.
During the second battle, the Red & Blue Goomba Bros. fight alongside the Goomba King. Since they are not fully recovered from the previous fight, they only have 2 HP each (the same as a normal Goomba). Mario can easily defeat them both at once via an attack item (e.g. Fire Flower) or by attacking the nearby Goomnut tree with his hammer.

Trivia
- A species of blue Goombas (called Gloombas) can be found in the first three Paper Mario games.
- Mad Goomba and Sad Goomba from Super Princess Peach are both red and blue Goombas (respectively); however, they are a species, and are colored as a cartoony way to depict their emotion. (For instance, the Sad Goombas are blue possibly due to the phrase "feeling blue", meaning "feeling sad", and the Mad Goombas are red most likely due to the cartoon gag of a person's face turning red upon getting angry.)
