Paper Toad Rescue is the first mission of Sunbeam Plains in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
LayoutEdit
The mission begins in an area with a stream. Immediately over to the west, Mario and co. will encounter a Paper Toad captured by a Goomba, and it must be battled to free the Toad. The next Toad is behind a narrow entrance that only Paper Mario can enter. In the next area, Mario and co. must head north and hit some Note Blocks from below to free another Toad. Heading due west, Mario and co. will encounter another Goomba with a Paper Toad in its grasp, and further west they will encounter a running Toad that they cannot catch. However, going south, Mario and co. will encounter the remaining three Paper Toads disguised as a fencepost, who all teach them the dash and slide abilities so that they can catch the last Paper Toad.
In subsequent playthroughs of this mission, the three Paper Toads disguised as a fencepost will simply join Mario and co. upon being encountered.
