Template:Infobox Paper Mario: Color Splash Trivia Quiz is a trivia game on the Play Nintendo website. It was made to promote the release of Paper Mario: Color Splash.

Gameplay

The player has a total of five trivia questions to answer. Each question gives the player four answers to choose from, with only one of them being the correct answer. Additionally, a video thumbnail above the question displaying the ability in question can be played. When an answer is hovered over, the player must select "Check answer" to see if they are correct. If the player answers correctly, the item they selected will be highlighted green. If the player answers incorrectly, the item they selected will be highlighted red, and the correct answer will be both written in the results area and highlighted green. At the end of the quiz, a message will pop up saying how many the player got right out of five. The player can then choose to either take the quiz again or take a different quiz on the website.

Questions

Correct answers are written in bold.

  1. What does Mario get for rescuing a Big Paint Star?
    • A hundred coins
    • A secret exit
    • A new area to explore
    • A shortcut to the boss battle
      • Right: Got it! You’re reaching for the stars. Mario must rescue six Big Paint Stars—Red, Yellow, Blue, Violet, Orange, and Green—to help return the color to Prism Island. Each time Mario saves a Big Paint Star, it paints in large areas of the world map for Mario to explore. Plus, Mario collects HP-Up Hearts each time he saves a Big Paint Star, which increases Mario’s maximum HP.
      • Wrong: Nope. Talk about unlucky stars! Each time Mario rescues one of the Big Paints Stars, it paints in large areas of the world map for Mario to explore. Plus, Mario collects HP-Up Hearts each time he saves a Big Paint Star, which means he can carry more colors into battle. That should help him return the color to Prism Island in no time!
  2. What does Huey give Paper Mario near the start of the game?
    • A Magma Burger
    • A Paint Hammer
    • The Holo-Peach PR-M4
    • A Mountain Climbing Permit
      • Right: Nice! You totally “nailed” it. Everyone knows that talking, floating paint buckets give the best gifts. Huey gives Mario a powerful Paint Hammer that can restore color to Prism Island—and that’s a pretty great gift to get in this game!
      • Wrong: Wrong choice. It’s hammer time! Huey gives Mario a powerful Paint Hammer that can restore color to Prism Island—which is just what he needs to, well, restore color to Prism Island. What a thoughtful gift, Huey!
  3. Which new special ability does Paper Mario have in this game?
    • Cutout
    • Hammer Scrap
    • Color Splash
    • Paper Mode
      • Right: Correct! A cut above the rest. The brand-new Cutout feature gives Mario the helpful ability to cut out backgrounds to reach new areas. “Hammer Scrap” is an item, not an ability; “Paper Mode” isn’t a new ability; and “Color Splash” is from the name of the game (hee hee).
      • Wrong: Nope, but we’ll cut your some slack… “Hammer Scrap” is an item, not an ability; “Paper Mode” isn’t a new ability; and “Color Splash” is from the name of the game (hee-hee). But the brand-new Cutout feature gives Mario a pretty cool ability. It lets him cut out backgrounds to reach new areas!
  4. Before Rescue Squad Toads can rescue Mario, he must first…
    • Color-coordinate their outfits
    • Find them
    • Restore color to Prism Island
    • Win a Ro-Sham-Bo tournament
      • Right: Toad-ally correct! Rescue Squad Toads are fearless defenders of color—just the kind of ally Paper Mario needs in a game like this. Unfortunately, they’re scattered all over Prism Island. Once Mario finds and assembles the team, the Toads can join forces to help our hero accomplish his mission.
      • Wrong: Toad-ally incorrect! Rescue Squad Toads are fearless defenders of color—they’re just nowhere to be found. These helpful allies are scattered all over Prism Island, but if Mario manages to find them, he can assemble them into a powerful team to help him on his mission.
  5. What do you call a Shy Guy with a straw?
    • A Slurp Guy
    • A Snifit
    • A Shy Bandit
    • A well-hydrated Shy Guy
      • Right: Don’t be shy—you got that one right! Who knew straws could cause so much trouble? Slurp Guys use those slurp-sticks to drain the color from poor, defenseless Toads. Snifits are Shy Guys with an extended nozzle instead of mouths, and Shy Bandits sometimes pop up on the world map to drain away large areas of color.
      • Wrong: Nope—and that’s the last straw! Who knew straws could be so dangerous? Slurp Guys use those slurp-sticks to drain the color from poor, defenseless Toads. Snifits are Shy Guys with an extended nozzle instead of mouths, and Shy Bandits sometimes pop up on the world map to drain away large areas of color.
