The Outback is a town in Down Under Land that only appears in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Crocodile Mario". It is populated by Mushroom People, including the Outback mayor. The town features a Magic Statue, which protects it from crocodiles. Kangaroo Koopa, as well as Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad, learn about the statue. However, Kangaroo Koopa arrives just before the four heroes, causing crocodiles to invade the Outback and chew the town's general store down to ground level. By following the footprints of crocodiles scared away by the Magic Statue, Mario and Luigi find Kangaroo Koopa and steal the statue back from him. They then return the statue to the Outback, where it repels the crocodiles, who chase Kangaroo Koopa away, restoring peace to the Outback.
