Toad, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

The Orange Mushroom House[1] contains one of the special mini-games found in World-e in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. It is an orange-colored Toad House unlocked after collecting 80 Advance Coins. The player must pay 30 coins each time they play this game.

Gameplay

Mario or Luigi starts on the bottom floor with a P-Wing to his right. Afterwards, the player must avoid several spikes (reds are stationary, while blues move) and sparks. If the player manages to reach the top, the player is awarded with a random item. Any contact with spikes or sparks, however, will have the player lose instantly.

Trivia

  • The core mechanic of the game, consisting of flying through the air while dodging moving, spiked sparks, seems to be based on the Nintendo video game Balloon Fight (specifically its Balloon Trip mode).
