Template:Character-infobox Nintendog is the name of any puppy character from Nintendo's Nintendogs game series. Nintendogs are named after their debut game, which in turn is a portmanteau of "Nintendo" and "dog." Nintendogs have appeared in a few games related to the Mario franchise.

Nintendogs appeared in the microgame Nintendogs in WarioWare: Smooth Moves where the player has to high-five the puppies. They also appear in a similarly-named microgame in WarioWare Gold where the player must rub them.

A white Labrador Nintendog became an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When it is activated it will distract the players by covering most of the screen and start clawing and barking, although it only worked on actual players. Nintendogs also appear as Stickers and a trophy.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the Nintendog returns as an Assist Trophy, though in this game it is a French Bulldog. A number of Nintendogs also appear on the Living Room stage in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Similarly, there are many Mario references in the Nintendog series. The player can find hats which are the same as Mario's and Luigi's, as well as various toys. These include Mario, Princess Peach and Bowser karts (designed with their Mario Kart DS kart style), which can be driven around the room, as well as Mushroom and ? Block toys to throw around. Additionally, the music played while driving the toy karts are heard from courses in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

This is one of the many adorable dogs you can care for in nintendogs + cats. It's hard for them to wag their little tails, but they make up for it with that cute face. In Smash Bros., they want to get right up in your face, blocking your view of the battle. They just want to be loved!
Toy Poodle ToyPoodleTrophy3DS.png N/A Those adorable eyes and curly hair may remind people of teddy bears more easily than dogs. But unlike a stuffed animal, these dogs are active and love to play. One reason the dogs are so popular is that they are quite easy to train. They appear in Toy Poodle & New Friends.
Shiba Inu ShibaInuTrophy3DS.png N/A The Shiba is one of the oldest breeds in the world. These Japanese dogs can be very loyal, and in the past their agility and active nature proved useful to their owners on hunting trips. You can look after and train one of these dogs in Golden Retriever & New Friends.
Beagle BeagleTrophy3DS.png N/A Hunting wild rabbits used to be a popular sport in England, and the beagle, an active and playful breed, was a popular companion for it. Perhaps sleeping beagles nowadays dream of chasing rabbits like their ancestors. You can choose this breed in Golden Retriever & New Friends.
Jack Russell Terrier JackRussellTerrierTrophy3DS.png N/A This breed originated in England and is especially good at chasing foxes. With no foxes in the living room, though, it'll chase toys instead. Terriers are tough, athletic, and curious–a perfect fit for someone who is the same! You can choose this breed in Toy Poodle & New Friends.
Golden Retriever GoldenRetrieverTrophy3DS.png N/A This large breed was originally from Scotland and was used to hunt waterfowl. They're smart but way to friendly to make good guard dogs. They come in a variety of shades, but all members of the breed share the same golden color. This breed is included in Golden Retriever & New Friends.

Red indicates exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version.
