Nibblas are similar to Snapjaws from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Nibblas are entirely invulnerable to attack, and they swim through the water quickly, following Dixie and Kiddy around a level. If the Kongs fall into the water, the Nibbla charges into them and bites the lead Kong, causing the player to lose that Kongs. One difference that Nibblas have from Snapjaws is that they cannot swim through walls.

Nibblas are similar to Snapjaws, enemy fishes from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Like Snapjaws, Nibblas will follow the Kongs throughout a level, ready to chomp down on either Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong if they fall into the water; however, unlike Snapjaws, Nibblas cannot go through walls. They are completely invulnerable and cannot be harmed. According to the game's credits, Nibbla belongs to the "Aquatic Attackers" enemy class.
Nibblas appear in three levels: Bobbing Barrel Brawl, Kreeping Klasps, and Fish Food Frenzy. In the Game Boy Advance remake, Nibblas also in two Pacifica levels, Stormy Seas and Lightning Lookout.

While most Nibbla are colored orange, and will always attack the Kongs, one Nibbla is a pseudo Animal Friend who follows Kiddy Kong and Dixie Kong throughout the level, "Fish Food Frenzy." This Nibbla serves as a friend to the Kongs, so long as they keep it well-fed, and its color determines its mood in that level. When blue, it's friendly; when purple, it shows a frown; when light pink, it shows its fangs, but won't attack the Kongs yet; when red, it will attack the Kongs with a swift bite. If Kiddy and Dixie continually feed that Nibbla Kocos, it will remain blue, smiling contently as it follows the Kongs throughout the level. However, if the Kongs feed Nibbla one of the many spiny-shelled Lurchins scattered throughout the level, or simply fails to feed it enough, its mood will gradually worsen until it finally satisfies its hunger by attacking a Kong. If a player is lucky while Nibbla is still red and a Koco is around (unless they manage to keep dodging Nibbla until it happens), Nibbla may attack it while in that state, and revert back to a light pink color, rendering it harmless to the Kongs again, unless it's not fed more Kocos. While it is generally detrimental to feed Nibbla Lurchins, one specific Lurchin near the end of the level guards the path to a Bonus Barrel.
In Fish Food Frenzy, there is a unique, blue Nibbla that follows behind the Kongs throughout the level, eating the underwater enemies in their path. The Nibbla changes color depending on its mood. When it is blue, the Nibbla is happy. The Nibbla must eat Kocos along the way to keep a happy mood or else it gradually worsens; if the Nibbla is purple, it starts to frown, if the Nibbla is light pink, it starts showing its fangs, and if the Nibbla turns bright red, it swiftly bites the lead Kong and turns back to light pink. The Kongs must avoid Lurchins because Nibbla's mood worsens from eating them, although there is Lurchin near the end of the level guarding the path to a Bonus Barrel. A No Animal Sign of Nibbla appears at the end of Fish Food Frenzy. It is different from those of the Animal Friends except Nibbla does not cross and stays behind; therefore, the Kongs cannot get a prize from Nibbla.

Although normally an enemy, Nibbla shows some features similar to that of an Animal Friend. It is used for a Bonus Barrel game, where the Kongs have to get rid of Kocos by feeding Nibbla in order to earn a Bonus Coin. Additionally, there is a "No Nibbla" Sign at the end of the "Fish Food Frenzy" level. However, no reward is given when bringing Nibbla past it, as Nibbla simply remains behind the sign, instead of transforming into a prize like an Animal Friend.

Overview

Fish Food Frenzy
The Nibbla of Fish Food Frenzy

Nibblas are similar to Snapjaws from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Nibblas are entirely invulnerable to attack, and they swim through the water quickly, following Dixie and Kiddy around a level. If the Kongs fall into the water, the Nibbla charges into them and bites the lead Kong, causing the player to lose that Kongs. One difference that Nibblas have from Snapjaws is that they cannot swim through walls.

Nibblas appear in three levels: Bobbing Barrel Brawl, Kreeping Klasps, and Fish Food Frenzy. In the Game Boy Advance remake, Nibblas also in two Pacifica levels, Stormy Seas and Lightning Lookout.

In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, a Nibbla is categorized under the Aquatic Attackers enemy class.
