Morning in Hyde Park (also referred to as Girls Episode 1 and Girls 1) is the first Girls episode in the Story Mode of the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The episode is unlocked after completing Foggy Foes, and unlocks Peach in a Pinch upon its completion. This episode, along with the other Girls and Challengers episodes, must be completed to earn the Story Mode 2 badge, and its completion is also required to unlock the Story Mode Cleared badge.

Plot

Daisy is out walking in Hyde Park, confused by the Phantasmal Fog and wondering if it has driven everyone off. Amy catches her up, also confused by the fog, but believing everyone has overslept like her. Daisy does not believe that Peach and Blaze would oversleep, and suggests that they try to find them. Daisy and Amy are then approached by imposters of Peach and Blaze, who they mistake for being the real Peach and Blaze. The imposters challenge Daisy and Amy to an Olympic Event, which they accept, hoping that it will stop them acting strangely.

After being beaten, the imposters disappear, though Daisy and Amy cannot make sense of what is happening. Another pair of imposters appear, causing Daisy and Amy to believe it was a prank, but another four then appear. Still unable to understand what is happening, Daisy and Amy decide to run away, and are chased by the six imposters.
