Missile shells[1][2] are enemies appearing only in Barbos's Barrier in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! Missile shells have purple cone-shaped shells covering their tentacle-based bodies, and display two beady eyes. Missile shells are shot by Barbos, after which they begin chasing the player. A while afterwards, they stop in place to home into the character, then shoot straight towards him before hitting a wall or a Lurchin. Enguarde cannot attack the missile shells, as he will get hurt if he tries to do so. Enguarde must lure them at the Lurchins that protect Barbos, leaving Barbos open to direct attacks from Enguarde.

In the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3, missile shells are defeated only if they hit a Lurchin, as they can swim through the area's walls.

Missile shells look similar to the Electrasquid enemies of Donkey Kong Country Returns, due to the conical shell.
