Mechawfuls are large robots based on Fawful. They are found in Peach's Castle Garden during the events of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. They are similar to the Dark Mechawfuls and the Gold Mechawfuls used in the battle with Bowser against Super Peach Castle. They are also encountered by Mario and Luigi.

Mechawful can attack by flying towards one of the Mario Bros and attempt to hit him with its fist. The player must hammer the Mechawful multiple times to prevent damage. An alternate attack used by Mechawful is to fall from the air and land on the player. It is possible to predict which attack Mechawful will use by watching its movement on the top screen of the game. If the Mechawful flies out of view, then it is preparing to land on its target. The dust marks which appear will also reveal which bro. is the target of Mechawful's attack. Mario and Luigi must hit it with a hammer to deflect it. This will send the Mechawful flying towards and damaging other enemies in the match, if any.

As Bowser, the player must quickly duck to avoid Mechawful's attack. Alternatively, Mechawful will rise to the top screen and land in front of Mario, Luigi, or Bowser. Failure to attack it immediately will cause the Mechawful to punch its target. Immediately after landing, the bros. must hit it with a hammer, or Bowser must punch it, to trigger a roulette-type action. Once the roulette is activated, the Mechawful's chest will light up and eyes will cycle through the colors yellow, blue, and red. Attacking it again will cause the roulette to stop.

  • If blue, the Mechawful returns to its place without attacking.
  • If yellow, the Mechawful will use a counterattack.
  • If red, the Mechawful will self-destruct, harming the player. It will only award Experience and Coins for defeating the head of the robot (not the rest of the body) at the end of the battle. It may also cause the player to become dizzy.

When defeated, the head detaches from the body and will either fly away, attack, or summon a new body on the next turn. Bowser can inhale the head, preventing Mechawful from reassembling its body. Mario and Luigi can then fight the head of the Mechawful inside Bowser. Occasionally, the head is destroyed with the body when the Mechawful has self-destructed, or when it is destroyed as a result of a counter-attack.

Bowser can use the Vacuum Block to inhale a Blitty from Mechawfuls.
