The Mario Kart 64 slot machine

Mario Kart 64 is an uncommon slot/fruit machine game, licensed by Nintendo and developed by slot machine maker Maygay using their Epoch technology. It was released in Europe in 1996.[1] It is the second officially licensed slot machine from the Mario and Mario Kart series. The machine art is based on various key arts from Mario Kart 64, and contains several sounds and pieces of music from the game. Some of the machines have settings for 5-pence and 10-pence play.[2]

Selecting from the key racers – Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi – the objective of the game is to compete with the other two characters. The player must race around the track to get the Super Jackpot bonus in the track's center, using powerups along the way and collecting cash from the reels, the three central prize trails, or the six character-based special features.[3]
