A comprehensive list of enemy statistics from the game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. For a bestiary related to the remake, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, see Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions bestiary.

Statistics listed are from the North American and European versions of the original Game Boy Advance version, with stats from the Japanese version in parentheses if they differ. Statistics from the remake may vary.

Legend

  • Name: The name of the enemy.
    • Normal: Enemy. (Ex: Goomba)
    • Bold: Boss. (Ex: Fawful)
    • Underlined: Support enemy/object/part. (Ex: Hoho Stone)
  • Location: The location(s) where the enemy is found.
  • LVL: The enemy's level. The player can easily overcome it or flee from it if they match or exceed its level.
  • HP: The enemy's (maximum) hit points at the start of the battle.
  • POW: The enemy's attack, or POW.
  • DEF: The enemy's defense power, or DEF.
  • Speed: The enemy's speed.
  • Jump: The enemy's reaction to Jump attacks: Normal, Spiny, and Weak. If Normal, the enemy takes regular damage; if Spiny, the jump attack cancels and the player takes 1 point of damage; if Weak, the enemy takes only 1 point of damage.
  • Hammer: The enemy's reaction to Hammer attacks: Normal, and Weak. If Normal, the enemy takes regular damage; if Weak, the enemy takes only 1 point of damage.
  • Hand: The enemy's reaction to solo Firebrand and Thunderhand attacks: Normal, and Weak.
  • Fire: The enemy's reaction to fire-based attacks (Mario's solo Firebrand or Fire Bros.). If the enemy absorbs it to heal itself, it will display Heal; if it is weak to it and inflicts extra damage, it will display Critical.
  • Thunder: The enemy's reaction to thunder-based attacks (Luigi's solo Thunderhand or Thunder Bros.). If the enemy absorbs it to heal itself, it will display Heal; if it is weak to it and inflicts extra damage, it will display Critical.
  • Status Ailments: The chances of the enemy being afflicted with a status effect successfully.
  • Experience: The amount of experience points earned from defeating the enemy.
  • Coins: The amount of coins dropped from the enemy.
  • Item Drop 1: The item that can be earned from defeating the enemy.
    • Rate: The rate of the item being dropped from the enemy. The values of the bestiary assume the player does not have the Grab or Salvage Badges or the Game Boy Horror SP equipped.
  • Item Drop 2: Another item that can be earned from defeating the enemy. These items are often rarer in nature.
    • Rate: The rate of the item being dropped from the enemy, especially when stealing it using the Advanced Swing Bros.. If equipped with the Game Boy Horror SP, the enemy will always drop this item, even if the rate is 0%.

Notes

  • Cheep Cheep: If the player defeats a Cheep Cheep in its Puffer-Cheep form, they earn the Puffer-Cheep Exp and Coins.
  • Oho Jee: Red or blue, they start with 75 HP, but the player can can bring them up to 100 HP by healing them with like-colored Hand Attacks.
  • Parabeanie: If the player damages a Parabeanie enough without defeating it, it turns into a Beanie.
    • U.S. version:
      • If a Parabeanie is defeated as a Parabeanie, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Parabeanie form only. (Total: 9 Exp, 2 Coins)
      • If a Parabeanie is defeated as a Beanie, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Beanie form only. (Total: 4 Exp, 2 Coins)
    • Japanese version:
      • If a Parabeanie is defeated as a Parabeanie, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Parabeanie form only. (Total: 8 Exp, 5 Coins)
      • If a Parabeanie is defeated as a Beanie, the player receives 15 Exp and 6 Coins, equivalent to Parabeanie, plus Beanie, plus an additional 3 Exp.
  • Paratroopea: If the player damages a Paratroopea enough without defeating it, it turns into a Troopea.
    • U.S. version:
      • If a Paratroopea is defeated as a Paratroopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Paratroopea form only. (Total: 20 Exp, 4 Coins)
      • If a Paratroopea is defeated as a Troopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Troopea form only. (Total: 16 Exp, 3 Coins)
    • Japanese version:
      • If a Paratroopea is defeated as a Paratroopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Paratroopea form only. (Total: 9 Exp, 8 Coins)
      • If a Paratroopea is defeated as a Troopea, the player receives 18 Exp and 6 Coins, equivalent to two Troopeas, plus an additional 10 Exp.
  • Pestnut (Chucklehuck Woods): After taking 15 or more damage, a Pestnut turns into a Beanie or Gold Beanie. It cannot be defeated as a Pestnut.
    • U.S. version: The player receive Exp and Coins from its Pestnut and Beanie forms.
    • Japanese version: The player receives Exp and Coins its Pestnut and Beanie forms.
  • Pestnut (Oho Ocean Seabed): After taking 40 or more damage, it turns into a Beanie or Gold Beanie and floats away.
    • U.S. version: The player receives Exp and Coins only from the Beanie that floats away.
    • Japanese version: The player receives Exp and Coins from its Pestnut and its Beanie form that floats away.
  • Scaratroopea: If the player damages a Scaratroopea enough without defeating it, it turns into a Troopea.
    • U.S. version:
      • If a Scaratroopea is defeated as a Scaratroopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Scaratroopea form only. (Total: 48 Exp, 20 Coins)
      • If a Scaratroopea is defeated as an Elite Troopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Elite Troopea form only. (Total: 40 Exp, 12 Coins)
    • Japanese version:
      • If a Scaratroopea is defeated as a Scaratroopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Scaratroopea form only. (Total: 90 Exp, 12 Coins)
      • If a Scaratroopea is defeated as an Elite Troopea, the player receives Exp and Coins from its Scaratroopea form only. (Total: 90 Exp, 12 Coins)
  • Tolstar: After beating Tolstar, the player is awarded all the Coins he took from them before the battle.
  • Hoohooros: The player is awarded Coins from two Pillars, no matter how many were defeated.
  • Dragohoho: The player is awarded Coins from both Hoho Stone forms, even if the player never destroys one.
  • Queen Bean: The player is also awarded Exp and Coins from Beanies they player defeats during the battle. In the Japanese game, Beanies defeated in the battle give double their normal Exp and Coins.
  • Cackletta: In the U.S. version, the player is awarded Exp and Coins from two fakes, no matter how many were defeated.
  • Mom Piranha: The player is also awarded Exp and Coins from two Piranha Plants, no matter how many were defeated. If the player defeats Mom Piranha when she is blue, they get 0 Coins from her in the U.S. version.
  • Trunkle: Trunkle's head-tree and non-fake small version share HP. In the U.S. version, the player can get 1030 Exp by beating Trunkle in his big form (by attacking his head) or by taking him out in his small form with all three fakes still standing. Otherwise, the player gets 1020 Exp if there are two fakes still standing, 1010 Exp if there is one fake left, and 1000 Exp if all the fakes have been crushed.
  • Popple (Chucklehuck Woods): If the player collects any amount of Coins that Popple throws at them, they will be awarded with 121 Coins instead of 120 after defeating him. In the Japanese version, 4 Coins are awarded for each Coin the player collects during the battle.
  • Birdo: The player is also awarded Coins from four Eggs, no matter how many Birdo produced.
  • Egg: Birdo's Eggs break after one hit.
  • Lemmy: When the player defeats Lemmy, the player will also get Coins from three of his fakes.
  • Wendy: When the player defeats Wendy, the player will also get Coins from three of her fakes.
