A Mandibug attacks Mario

Mandibugs[1] are beetle-like enemies found solely in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2. They infested the Honeyhive Galaxy and are led by Bugaboom. They are apparently unfriendly neighbors of the Bees, and they take over the Bees' observation tower in the mission "Trouble on the Tower". One can be defeated by executing a Ground Pound on its back. Along with the Honeyhive Galaxy, Mandibugs appear in a handful of other locations, including the Honeyclimb Galaxy and on Airships. They attack Mario by chasing and harming him with their mandibles. Mandibugs later appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, where they appear in the Puzzle Plank Galaxy. Their leader, Bugaboom, makes a reappearance in the Puzzle Plank Galaxy's hidden Star.

A Mandibug Stack appears when Mario rides the windmill to the top of the tower in Honeyhive Galaxy. They are defeated by Mario, and they give up a Star. Another Mandibug Stack appears during the mission "The Puzzling Picture Block", in Super Mario Galaxy 2, but with a boss theme. Once again, Mario defeats them and gains the Star.
