Template:Minigame-infobox Loco Motives is a Duel minigame found in Mario Party 8.

Introduction

A train track with the players' trains and balloons will be shown. Both players point at a train with their cursor, reversing its direction. The game then starts.

Gameplay

The players have to tap their trains to reverse the direction they go so that they do not pop their colored balloons. If a train gets near a balloon, its siren will go off. Each player has three trains and five balloons to watch; the players have to compete until one player pops three of his or her balloons, resulting in a win for the opponent. The trains will stop moving once they pop a balloon. It is also impossible for a player to pop their opponent's balloons, as the player has to pop their own first. Burst balloons will come back and trains will start moving again a little after making contact.

Ending

The winner will do a victory pose while the loser is sad. The screen then cuts to the winner's train, which is traveling around the track.
