List of hidden blocks in Paper Mario

In Paper Mario, Mario can discover Hidden Blocks throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. Like regular ? Blocks, these invisible blocks contain coins, items, and even badges. Mario can reveal them by using Watt's field ability by pressing ; however, Mario can still uncover them himself without her, even before she joins his party. All Hidden Blocks are revealed by jumping at them -- there are no Hidden Blocks on the ground that must be hit with the Hammer. Some Hidden Blocks are too high for Mario to hit with an ordinary jump and thus require the use of the Tornado Jump from the Ultra Boots to reveal them (such as four mandatory ones in Toad Town Tunnels leading to Shiver City). Hidden Blocks will never be found in areas with NPCs; as such, they will not be found in shops or houses. If Mario reveals a block containing an item or badge, then leaves and returns to the area without collecting the contents, the block will become invisible again until he does so. Some invisible blocks are used as stepping stones to reach new places or other items. There are 47 Hidden Blocks in the game. This page lists the location of each Hidden Block, the contents, and how to get to them.

Goomba Village	Repel Gel	In the area immediately east of Jr. Troopa's playground, Mario will find a gray block that can only be broken with the Super or Ultra Hammer. Jumping in the center where the block once was will reveal the Hidden Block. If Mario doesn't have the Super or Ultra Hammer, he can still hit the block by jumping on the Brick Block near it and using Kooper or Bombette while on the Stone Block.
Pleasant Path	Fire Flower	In the area two screens west of the Koopa Bros. Fortress, the Hidden Block is between the two Brick Blocks.
Dry Dry Desert (Area B1)	Thunder Rage	In the area two screens north of Kolorado's camp, the Hidden Block is above the easternmost rock.
Dry Dry Desert (Area G2)	Attack FX C Badge	In the area one screen east and three south from Kolorado's camp, the Hidden Block is above the lone rock.
Dry Dry Desert (Area C5)	Runaway Pay Badge	In the area one screen north and four east from Kolorado's camp, the Hidden Block is in the center of the triangle of trees.
Dry Dry Desert (Area E7)	Life Shroom	In the area one screen north of the oasis, the Hidden Block is above the ? Block on the ground.
Toad Town Tunnels	Super Shroom	In the area one screen east from the entrance, the Hidden Block is in the middle of the gap in the row of blocks.
Toad Town Tunnels	1 Coin each	In the area one screen west of the blue Warp Pipe to Boo's Mansion is a gap between the two high platforms with the Super Block on the western one. There are three Hidden Blocks in this area. Using the blue movable block, Mario should move it to the middle of the left side of the floor grid pattern (where the blue block is), the center, and the middle of the right side and jump from the movable block at those spots to reveal them. Alternatively, Mario can also hit the invisible blocks without using the blue movable block by using the Tornado Jump if he has obtained the Ultra Boots.
Toad Town Tunnels	Maple Syrup	In the area two screens east of where the player obtains the Ultra Boots, near the starting pipe, Mario should jump at the center of the pathway sticking out to reveal the Hidden Block.
Toad Town Tunnels	Stop Watch	In the same area, from the pipe, Mario should follow the central path going east. The Hidden Block is located just before the path splits north and south.
Toad Town Tunnels	Volt Shroom	Also in the same area, near the doorway, the Hidden Block is west of the visible one.
Toad Town Tunnels	Life Shroom	In the next area, the Hidden Block is between the two sets of three blocks. The Ultra Boots are needed to hit the block.
Toad Town Tunnels	1 Coin each	In the area two screens east of the blue Warp Pipe to Yoshi's Village is a gap between two high platforms, with a doorway leading to Shiver City in the east. There are four Hidden Blocks in this area. Starting from standing under the visible ? Block touching the western platform, Mario should move two block lengths from it and Tornado Jump to reveal the first Hidden Block, then continue to use the same method for the next blocks to reveal them all.

Lavalava Island	Repel Gel	Going one screen southeast from the island's westernmost shore with the Whale, the Hidden Block is directly southeast of the first Bellbell Plant.
Lavalava Island	Mystery?	In the same area, going east, a second Hidden Block is directly southwest of the second Bellbell Plant.
Jade Jungle	Thunder Rage	Going one screen northeast from the island's westernmost shore with the Whale, Mario should use Sushie's field ability to swim from the southern dock to the one northwest of it. Then, he should follow the path east then north to find a Bellbell Plant and jump directly northwest of it to reveal the Hidden Block.
Jade Jungle	Stone Cap	In the area one screen north of the Raven statue, Mario should go to the high elevated ground and jump directly southeast of the Bellbell Plant to reveal another Hidden Block.
Jade Jungle	Volt Shroom	In the next area, Mario should use the westernmost blue movable block and push it east once and north once, then jump from it to reveal the Hidden Block. Alternatively, Mario can also hit the hidden block from the ground with a Tornado Jump if he has obtained the Ultra Boots.
Mt. Lavalava	Life Shroom	In the area one screen east of where the player obtains the Ultra Hammer, Mario should climb up all the way to the highest elevated ground in the northeast. Then, he should jump near the center close to the edge to reveal the Hidden Block.
Flower Fields (Southeast)	Maple Syrup	In the area with the Bubble Tree on the eastern grassy area, Mario should jump slightly northwest of the first patch of yellow flowers -- directly in the opposite spot from the visible block in the west -- to reveal the Hidden Block.
Flower Fields (West)	1 Coin	In the area one screen west of the Wise Wisterwood, with the blue flower guard, Mario should jump at the spot between the Springboard and the Brick Block to reveal the Hidden Block.
Flower Fields (West)	Shooting Star	In the same area as the above block, Mario should jump from the same Springboard onto the revealed ? Block, then to the Brick Block and jump again to reveal another Hidden Block. Alternatively, Mario can perform a Tornado Jump with the Ultra Boots.
Flower Fields (Northeast)	Thunder Rage	One screen west of the area with the Puff Puff Machine, in the northeastern corner, is another Hidden Block. Jumping in the area between the two patches of yellow flowers will reveal it.
Shiver Snowfield	Stop Watch	In the area where Mario fights Monstar, going up the steps in the east to the high platform, the Hidden Block is on the north-central area.
Shiver Mountain	Ultra Shroom	In the first area, going all the way east to the Brick Block, Mario should Tornado Jump underneath it to destroy it, then Tornado Jump again in the same spot to reveal the Hidden Block.
Crystal Palace	Jammin' Jelly	On the mirror side, in the western area with the small Albino Dino statue, Mario should Tornado Jump northwest from the door, above the Spin Panel, to reveal the Hidden Block.
Bowser's Castle	Maple Syrup	In the eastern room of rooms involving the use of Sushie to raise and lower the water levels, the Hidden Block is on the top level in between the recessed passages.
Bowser's Castle	Maple Syrup	One screen east of the large hallway with the B. Bill Blasters, the Hidden Block is underneath the western chandelier.
Princess Peach's Castle	Ultra Shroom	In the first area, the final Hidden Block is directly on the opposite side of the Save Block, across the steps in the east.

Trivia

• Unlike hidden treasures in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and invisible ? Blocks in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga which have to be hit twice to collect their items (first time to even reveal them), Hidden Blocks in Paper Mario immediately drop their items as soon as they're hit and revealed.
• In Gusty Gulch, there is a ? Block containing a single Coin inside a small house with no door one screen east of the Windy Mill. Close inspection through the cracks on the top of the house reveals the ? Block is not invisible.
