This is a list of glitches found exclusively in the game Super Mario Advance 4, a remake of Super Mario Bros. 3. For glitches found in the original Super Mario Bros. 3 or the version included in Super Mario All-Stars, and possibly Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 as well, see List of Super Mario Bros. 3 glitches.

Glitches

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all names are conjectural.

Icon Color Change

To do this glitch, Mario or Luigi must have completed World 2-Pyramid. It will have a "completed" white icon, however, if Mario goes to the left, so that the level is off-screen and back, the icon will turn yellow.

Running Backwards

To do this glitch, the player must hold L Button and R Button at the same time, and Mario/Luigi will run backward.

Washed-Out Mario

What happens if you lose Star power in Super Mario Advance 4.

If a Starman runs out in this version, Mario will have a slightly washed-out color palette. This will be fixed if he takes a warp pipe or door, takes damage, beats a level, or gets a power-up (other than a Starman).

Boss Bass Glitch

If the player goes to World 3-3 or 3-8 and lets Boss Bass jump out of the water after Mario or Luigi, the player must repeatedly press Start Button while Boss Bass dives into the water and until his head pops up they must stop. If done correctly, Boss Bass doesn't hurt the plumbers but are still stuck inside and the player cannot escape except by exiting the level or restarting the game.

Fast Underground Music

If the player is on the map and uses a Starman and goes to a pipe, after the Starman is done, the underground music will play very fast.
