Template:Item-infobox Limited Lifts[1] (also referred to generically as rafts[2] and lifts[3]) are a type of lift found in the New Super Mario Bros. sub-series.

History

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

A Limited Lift first appears in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where they move once the player steps on it. They feature numbers on their sides that start from zero and go up to five, representing the number of enemies and objects onboard the raft at once (besides the players). The Limited Lift stops when at least five enemies and objects board it, and the player must clear out at least one enemy or object on the raft to get it moving again. It only appears in World 5-4, where it is the main gimmick of the level.

New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

The Limited Lift returns in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, exhibiting the exact same behavior as in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, albeit with the numbers now counting down instead of up. One appears each in Magma-River Cruise in the former and in Magmaw River Cruise in the latter, though Limited Lifts are also given prominent roles in the challenges Mole to Goal and Mole to Goal Returns.

Limited Lifts reprise the aformentioned roles in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
