Light Barrels,[1] also spelled light barrels,[1] are a type of Barrel that only appear in Donkey Kong Land 2. They only appear in one level, Glimmer's Galleon, where they replace Glimmer's role from the level's Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest equivalent, despite Glimmer retaining its name in the level's name.
At first, when Diddy and Dixie access Glimmer's Galleon, the entire area is dark. There are Light Barrels placed throughout the level, and the Kongs can swim into one to illuminate the entire level temporarily, allowing them to see the path forward. Light Barrels are depicted with a shining bulb icon, and swimming into one causes the icon to briefly flicker.
