Template:Levelbox Kroctopus Krush is the boss level of Razor Ridge in the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3. It replaces Barbos's Barrier from the SNES version, which was moved to Pacifica. In this level, the Kongs must face Kroctopus, a boss exclusive to the Game Boy Advance release.

Overview

Kroctopus pinching a bomb in the Game Boy Advance port of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Kroctopus can take damage by pinching a bomb.

The boss arena consists of three platforms and a pool of green water below. There is a platform on each side and one in the middle that is higher than the other two. Beneath the platform on the right is an invisible Blast Barrel that launches the Kongs back on the platform if they fall off.

At the start of the battle, Kroctopus rises from the water and starts attacking with its claws. At first, there is a pattern. Kroctopus will aim for the middle platform, then left, then right. After that, Kroctopus will start targeting Dixie and Kiddy. A bomb eventually drops from above, and to damage Kroctopus, the Kongs must trick it into pinching the bomb. When the bomb explodes, the Kongs must avoid being caught within its blast radius, which causes them to take damage. If Kroctopus does not pinch the bomb, it explodes after a while, and a new bomb drops in its place.

After being hit by three bombs, Kroctopus sinks underwater and remerges with an orange tint. The second phase starts with Kroctopus aiming its claws twice at the left and right platforms each before targeting the Kongs again. Unlike the first phase of the battle, Kroctopus is quicker at extending its claws, and the bombs take less time to explode.

When Krocotopus takes three more hits, it sinks back into the water and reemerges with a red tint. Kroctopus starts to attack with two claws at a time, with its middle claw always being one of them. Kroctopus's attacks are faster than the first two phases, and the bombs explode more quickly. After three more hits, which makes a total of nine hits, Kroctopus is defeated, and it releases a Bonus Coin (or a Bear Coin if the boss level was already completed).
