The killer bees[1] are a group of miniature red bees resembling red Buzzes in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. They only appear in the level Riverside Race, where they chase after Dixie and Kiddy Kong for most of the level. The Kongs must avoid touching the killer bees or else the one in the lead gets defeated, although if Dixie and Kiddy become temporarily invincible, they can avoid taking damage from the killer bees.
In certain parts of Riverside Race, the killer bees stop chasing Dixie and Kiddy, such as whenever the Kongs go underwater or are on elevated terrain, although they still follow above or below them. The killer bees also do not chase Dixie and Kiddy at the starting point or the area with the Level Flag.
Killer bees are one of four enemies to not appear in Dixie Kong's Photo Album, the others being Koindozer, Kroc, and missile shell.
