Mario finds the Key to Peach's Castle stuck in a tailpipe on Luigi's Kart
“Well, you had a way of finding OTHER keys that we needed, right when we needed them. That was helpful! And now you've brought us the right key at the right time. Way to go, Luigi!”
Olivia, Paper Mario: The Origami King

The Key to Peach's Castle is an item in Paper Mario: The Origami King, and is used to unlock the front door to Peach's Castle. Princess Peach's emblem is engraved on the key. Throughout the game, Luigi searches for the key, only to find many different other keys to other areas instead during his search.

Following Mario's escape from Hotfoot Crater with Olivia and Bowser, they try to enter Peach's Castle, only to find that its front door is locked. Olivia reacts in shock over why she and Mario had not found the key to Peach's Castle yet. At this point, Luigi catches up with them in his hang glider-kart apparatus and apologetically breaks down in front of Mario, claiming that he couldn't find the key despite his best efforts, unaware that it is actually stuck in one of the tailpipes on his kart. Mario must pull the key from the tailpipe. Olivia then remarks to Luigi how he has brought the right key at the right time. With the key to Peach's Castle finally found, Mario, Luigi, Olivia, and Bowser use it to unlock the door to the castle.
