Flame thrower (Flame Chomp)

Template:Species-infobox A Keronpa Ball,[1] also known as Kuromame[2] or simply Keronpa,[3] is an obstacle found in Super Mario 64 and its portable remake, Super Mario 64 DS. They are tiny black spheres that hover in place a tiny distance off the ground. In the remake, they have faces based on Flame Chomps. They usually line the edges of pathways. A Keronpa Ball is motionless and harmless until the player character passes by. Then, it expands to about twice its size and shoots a tiny fireball that chases him around for a short time until it goes out. If hit by the flame, the character will run around uncontrollably while steadily losing three life pieces, although he will still be able to jump. In the remake, Yoshi will also be able to breathe fire if he swallows one.
There are two Keronpa Balls located in the downtown area of Wet-Dry World. Due to a mistake in the level design, however, they cannot spit fire. Even at its shallowest point, the water level in the area is high enough that the two Keronpa Balls are submerged, rendering them harmless. They can be activated using glitches, though. By using the water-raising/water-lowering glitch, the water can be made to go lower than normal, so they can be activated. Due to being useless, these Keronpa Balls were removed in the remake.
