Template:Minigame-infobox Hammer Drop is an 4-player minigame that is found during the events of the Nintendo 64 video game, Mario Party. Unlike other minigames, this minigame involves collecting Coins freely.

Introduction

The minigame takes place on a stone tower, surrounded by water and other stationary towers. Four of the players are positioned at their sides equally, as a Hammer Bro riding in a cloud appears in the center of the playfield. The minigame then begins.

Gameplay

The objective of the minigame is to have the opportunity to collect the most amount of coins as possible within the time limit of thirty seconds.

The Hammer Brother moves around the center of the tower, dropping various objects on the floor. Collectible objects include single coins, and Coin Bags that are worth five coins. Dropped objects bounce towards the edge of the tower before disappearing forever, so the players must gather those coins and Coin Bags as quickly as they can within the limited space.

The Hammer Brother can also throw out hammers to harm players. If the player gets hit by a hammer, he or she will be stunned momentarily, causing the player to temporary lose the ability to pick up the collectible objects. Falling off the tower will not let the player continue participating in the minigame, but will keep the coins the player gathered before falling.

There is no winner or loser if the minigame ends when the time limit is up. All the players participated and gathered the amount of coins they collected in the minigame regardless if they fall out of the top of the tower or not. However, if every player falls off the tower before the minigame ends, then the game ends with a Miss.[1]

The minigame can be purchased from the Mini-Game House for four-hundred and fifty Coins when it is available for a purchase.
