Template:Species-infobox Ghosts[1] are enemies that appear in both games of the DK series. As their name implies, they resemble generic ghosts, with their faces consisting of two big empty eyes and a tiny mouth, followed by a chubby body overall, short hands, and a regular phantom tail; they also have a pointy top on their heads.

History

DK: King of Swing

Ghosts debut in DK: King of Swing, appearing in the level Ship of Souls. They float around a set area until they detect Donkey Kong, at which point they will start approaching him, fading back in and damaging DK once they are on top of him. However, they also go invisible before attacking Donkey Kong, allowing him to pass through the ghost without damaging himself. Ghosts are also vulnerable in their visible state, and can be defeated with a charge.

DK: Jungle Climber

Ghosts return in DK: Jungle Climber, appearing in the level Spooky Woods. They are now visible only when Donkey Kong is moving, and stay invisible in every other circumstance. If Donkey Kong gets too close to one, it will scare him away without damaging him.

Jeepers creepers, better cast yer peepers on the top screen! All you have to do is stop moving and stay totally motionless. If you stay still, the ghosts turn transparent, and they can't hurt you. When you're walking, just stop where you are. When you're on pegs, grab on with both hands and freeze! Remember, when you're in danger, just stay calm and stay still."
