Gaz is a young Toad in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. He is the son of the Rose Town innkeeper and lives in Rose Town with his mother. When Mario arrived in Rose Town he played with Gaz for a short while before being knocked unconscious. While Mario slept, Gaz's doll Geno came to life and headed out into the Forest Maze.

Once Geno joins the party and defeats Bowyer to earn the second star piece, Mario can then return to Rose Town to visit Gaz and he gives Geno his first weapon, the Finger Shot. Since Mario played with Gaz, his mother, the innkeeper, lets Mario rest for free for an umlimited number of times.

Gaz sometimes appears in a dream if the party rests at the inn of Nimbus Land and use the "Dream Cushion".
