Template:Item-infobox The Gate Handle is an item in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is found on a boat within the Pirate's Grotto. In Chapter 5, Mario goes to the south area of Pirate's Grotto and gets cursed by a Black Chest Demon. After that, he will be able to use Boat Mode to land on that boat. Upon finding it, Mario must bring it to a closed gate inside the Pirate's Grotto. By using the Gate Handle, the gate will lift open, and Mario will be able to move on.
- After Mario uses the Gate Handle to open the gate, he receives a speechless warning from Cortez: "...OoOoOoOooOooOoOoOoOoOo..."
