Funky's Flights II is an air travel service operated by Funky Kong in both Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. It transports Diddy and Dixie to a previously visited world or location. It is the direct successor of Funky's Flights from Donkey Kong Country, but with a Roman numeral (II) added at the end.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Funky operates a Funky's Flights II in every world except for the Lost World. Like its predecessor, Funky's Flights, it is the only other alternative for Diddy and Dixie to access a world they have previously visited. Funky allows them to do so by renting the Biplane Barrel, the successor of the Jumbo Barrel. This sends them to Crocodile Isle's world map, where they can select a world and then a level of it. The screen also moves up and down slightly when the Kongs are in the location.

When they first use the Funky Barrel in a world, Funky charges them two Banana Bunch Coins, a change from the original Funky's Flights, where DK and Diddy use it for free. For consecutive uses, Diddy and Dixie can use it for free. This is the inverse of when Wrinkly first saves the game progress for free in each world's Kong Kollege but then charges them subsequently.

Funky's Flights II takes place on a giant surfboard. There is a wooden shack in the corner with antennas on its roof and a few objects lying outside of it, such as a tire and a beach ball. The Jumbo Barrel is in the background, toppled over behind the "FUNKY flights" sign. Funky's surfboard from Donkey Kong Country is also lying on top of the shack. To reflect how Funky's Flights II takes place on a surfboard, the screen slowly moves up and down.

Game Boy Advance version

In the Game Boy Advance version, Funky's Flights II was significantly changed. Funky no longer offers flight services but instead hosts a Funky's Flights mission in each world, and it is accessed via a Golden Barrel. The reward for completing each mission is a DK Coin, and the best time is shown on a scoreboard to the left. Diddy and Dixie can optionally replay a mission to try and aim for the best time. If the Kongs complete the same mission again, Funky states that he is not rewarding them again because they already completed the mission. If the Kongs complete the mission faster than before, Funky does note it, and the best time scoreboard is updated.

Funky's Flights II has a simpler appearance than in the original version, and Funky is on the right side instead of the left. The redesign makes it more evident that Funky's Flights II takes place on a giant surfboard. The screen no longer moves up and down, although the clouds in the background are animated and move quickly. Despite this, the world map icon for Funky's Flights II, which is a light green surfboard with a palm tree and a shack, slowly moves up and down.

The Kongs can no longer exit a world by completing a boss rematch, as these were converted into time attack challenges hosted by Swanky Kong. Diddy and Dixie's only option to access other worlds is from the Start Button menu by selecting the option Gyrocopter, which itself replaces the Biplane Barrel from the original version. This option has to be unlocked first, as Funky wants Diddy and Dixie to complete the Aerial Loop mission in Gangplank Galleon to prove that they can pilot the Gyrocopter.

Donkey Kong Land 2

Funky's Flights II has an identical role in Donkey Kong Land 2, though the English version simply names it "Funky's Flights" on the world map.
