The Flupperius Petallus Pongus

The Flupperius Petallus Pongus is a red flower that appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. It is needed to complete a trade that earns Dixie and Kiddy Kong a Banana Bird.

Bramble is seeking a Flupperius Petallus Pongus that he can study, but none are able to grow due to the pollution caused by the nearby factories on Mekanos. If the Kongs manage to defeat KAOS on Mekanos, Bramble reports that the local plantlife can start growing again, but a Flupperius Petallus Pongus has yet to bloom. Once the Kongs clear Razor Ridge, a Flupperius Petallus Pongus that they can pluck has grown at the end of dead-end path near Bramble's Bungalow. By giving the Flupperius Petallus Pongus to Bramble, the Kongs receive his Banana Bird in exchange.

In the Game Boy Advance remake of the game, the Flupperius Petallus Pongus is acquired differently, and serves a slightly different purpose. Bachelor will give the Flupperius Petallus Pongus to the Kongs when they first visit him, explaining that he needs a Rose for his hot date. By taking this Flupperius Petallus Pongus to Bramble, the Kongs receive the Rose that Bachelor seeks in exchange. Additionally, the Kongs can get Bramble's Banana Bird simply by speaking to him any time after after they clear Mekanos.
