The Elite Captain Quartet is a division of the Koopa Troop commanding the Goomba Squad and the Minions. The group debuted in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions and later reappeared in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

History

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions

The Elite Captain Quartet is first formed in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, when Captain Koopa Troopa becomes the fourth Captain in Teehee Valley to help the Goomba Squad in their mission to save Bowser. At the end, Bowser was about to reinstate Captain Goomba as captain of the Minions but remembers he was the one who caused his amnesia and takes his flag away.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, the Captains regain their status as captains through unknown means. They are fought twice in Bowser's Castle (east), each are fought individually throughout seperate missions, and they are all fought together in The Power of Junior where they are regular troops with King Bob-omb as the captain. They also appear together in the level The Trio Clash! in Bowser's Castle (west), they rescue Wendy from the Best Fitness Friends, and during the level they act as Bowser Jr.'s Troops. Morton and Ludwig each tell Bowser Jr. about the quartet's quest to save Bowser in the Beanbean Kingdom.
