Discus Throw is a field Athletics Event that appears in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The objective of the event is to throw the discus the farthest, with the event taking place in the Olympic Stadium. The starting Olympic record in this event is held by Vector at 69.890 meters.

Gameplay

This events starts with the player's character being announced, before the character starts. The player must swing the Wii Remote to the right or wait a while to begin their swing. As the character swings the discus back, they must swing the Remote to the left with proper timing, or the discus won't go as far. The player must then tilt the Wii Remote to line up the angle of their throw, and afterward must swing the Wii Remote to the left again as soon as they are about to throw the discus to throw it. Wrong timing while doing this results in a foul. The announcer then reveals the player's place. If multiple people are playing, it goes to the next person. If there are multiple tries, it goes through the list again, but without a special character announcement. Instead, it will say, the characters name and "Beginning play", where the player needs to hit A Button to do it again. At the end, the farthest distance is taken for their score.
