Discus Throw is an event that appears in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The event is under the Field category of events, under the Athletics category. The event takes place at the Olympic Stadium.

Gameplay

The entire event consists of three rounds. The player must swing the Wii Remote to the left to begin their swing. As the player swings the discus back, they must swing the Remote to the right at the last possible moment of the swing. The player must then tilt the Wii Remote to line up the angle of their throw, and afterward must swing the Wii Remote to the right again as soon as they are about to throw the discus to throw it. At the end of each round, the player is ranked based upon the distance of the impact of their throw compared to the other competitors.

Rules

In this event, players compete to throw their discus furthest from within the circle.

Controls

Basics

  • Start swing: Swing Wii Remote right
  • Swing & throw: Swing Wii Remote left
  • Adjust angle: Tilt Wii Remote

Tips

  • The longer the projected flight line matches the white guide line, the further the discus will travel.

Advice

The discus will travel further if you throw it when the discus and glow overlap.
