Crown Capture at Mushroom Ruins is the second level of Special Episode in the Nintendo Switch version of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It was released on March 14th for players who have purchased the Special Episode DLC. This level is the first to introduce the Crown Chip mechanic, and takes place in a lightly altered version of Episode 1 Prologue and Episode 2 Prologue.

Layout

The level takes place in the same grassy ruins as Episode 1 Prologue and Episode 2 Prologue. Atop the stone structure is the first Crown Chip. After collecting it, the next piece appears on a slanted brick beneath the former, the third inside a crevasse in the middle of the level, the fourth on the wall of the highest structure, requiring the player to drop onto it from above, and the last on the stone pillar where the Gold Mushroom is located in the Episode 2 Prologue. After collecting the five Crown Chips, the Shiny Crown appears at the entrance to the ruins. There is also a hidden Gold Mushroom in the lower corner of the level that has a stone ground, near the poster displaying the Super Crown.

Super Gems

Three Super Gems can be found throughout the level.

  • Super Gem 1: Only obtainable between the second and third Crown Chip, to the right of the latter.
  • Super Gem 2: Only obtainable between the third and fourth Crown Chip, on top of the stone structure, to the left of the latter.
  • Super Gem 3: Only obtainable between the fourth and fifth Crown Chip, where the Shiny Crown appears.
