Critical Hit is the Final Smash used by Marth in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and by him, Lucina and Roy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, based upon the critical hit mechanic of the Fire Emblem series.

After breaking a Smash Ball, Marth or Lucina charges directly forward, striking any opponents in their path and dealing high damage and knockback. A health bar in the style of the Fire Emblem games also appears for each character struck by the attack that completely depletes; in Super Smash Bros. Brawl it is designed after the ones in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, while in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U it is based on the health bars in Fire Emblem Awakening. When used on the ground, Marth or Lucina will charge to the end of the platform they are standing on. When used in the air in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, however, Marth does not stop charging unless he hits an opponent, meaning that he can fly off the screen, though in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U Lucina and Marth only move a certain distance forward before the Final Smash automatically ends. In both games the player can also press either attack button to execute the sword slash at any point while flying forward, ending the attack then.

Roy's Critical Hit functions differently. Roy does not charge forward, instead slowly swinging his sword around in an overhead arch staring from behind him. Opponents caught in the arch will take repeated damage and be brought in front of Roy, where he will swing his sword downward, creating a large blast and launching opponents. Like with Marth's and Lucina's Critical Hit, cosmetic health bars appear at the end of the move, showing the opponents' health drop rapidly to 0. However, Roy's Critical Hit isn't as strong and doesn't launch as far. Strangely, at the end of the move, a sheath will appear on Roy's back and he'll sheath his sword, but the sheath will disappear once Roy draws his sword back out.

Critical Hit BrawlTrophy058.png Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl Marth's Final Smash. He thrusts his sword skyward, then rushes to meet his targeted enemy with furious speed. The blow he strikes is so powerful that his foe is instantly launched off the screen. As in Fire Emblem, a window appears that shows the character's hit points dropping rapidly to zero--but this is just for effect. Smash Bros. does not use a hit-point system.

PAL: Marth raises his Exalted Falchion to the sky, then rushes forwards to deal an incredibly powerful blow, almost certainly KOing anyone and everyone who gets hit! When used in the air, he'll fly forwards a set distance, but on the ground, he'll only dash up to the edge of the platform he's standing on.

Critical Hit (Lucina) Critical Hit trophy from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U N/A NA: In Lucina's Final Smash, she raises her sword high before dashing swiftly forward to deliver a deadly blow to whomever she makes contact with first. Even if their damage is low, this strike is powerful enough to take out foes in a single hit. Just make sure you don't dash off the stage when you use it in midair!

PAL: In Lucina's Final Smash, she raises her sword high, then dashes swiftly forwards to deliver a deadly blow to whoever stands in her way. Even if their damage is low, this strike is powerful enough to take them out in a single hit. Just be careful not to dash off the stage if you use it in mid-air!

Critical Hit (Roy) Critical Hit trophy from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U N/A For Roy’s Final Smash, he traps enemies in a circular swing of the blade, brings it up behind him, and then, in a blast of fire, brings the blade down for a powerful finisher! The downward attack is powerful on its own but doesn’t have much range, so make sure you’re close enough to hit your enemies with the full combo and really seal their fate!
