Template:Minigame-infobox Crank to Rank is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Introduction

Four players are seen standing in front of Princess Peach's Castle (which looks like a smaller version of the castle in Super Mario 64). They all cheer before they run over to their respective flagpoles nearby and stand in front of them, with their hands on the wheel handles.

Gameplay

The four players must crank their flagpoles by swinging the Wii Remote in circles or by turning the crank on the Touch Screen by using the 3DS stylus. The first one to get the flag to the top is the winner. In Mario Party 8, if no one gets their flag to the top within five minutes, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending

Fireworks explode behind the castle, and, in Mario Party 8, the camera changes angle and the winner performs their victory animation while the losers do their losing animations.
