Course No.38 is the second course of Syrup Castle in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. It takes place on the bottom floor of the castle.

LayoutEdit

Wario starts in a dark room with a cluster of unbreakable blocks trapping Pirate Gooms and blocks and covering up a ladder leading further down. A single Wanderin' Goom walks back and forth on top of the blocks. On the other side, a door leads to a small room with a ! Block. Activating it shifts the block cluster up to the ceiling, freeing the Pirate Gooms. Wario can also now hit the blocks from earlier, though he must hit the switch again to obtain their contents. After climbing down the ladder, Wario must break through a winding passage blocked by breakable bricks, while avoiding damage from the Pirate Gooms. A Dragon Pot can be obtained from a block found towards the end.

At the end of the passage, Wario enters an interconnecting room with three Gaugau. After entering the next door, Wario appears at the bottom of a tall, dark room with lava at the bottom. To reach the top, Wario must climb the ladders hanging by the right walls while avoiding the Batto Shuruken on the left wall that fire Kōmori Missiles and Watches that swoop down on Wario. A Jet Pot is obtainable from a block under the second Batto Shuruken. Once at the top, the left door leads to the save point, while the right door just next to another Batto Shuruken leads to another interconnecting room with a Chicken Duck and Droppers.

In the next dark room, a block containing a Star is found at the start, which Wario can use to run across the lava-filled gaps and through the winding passage while plowing through the horde of Pirate Gooms. Past the next interconnecting room inhabited by a Penkoon, Wario must traverse three floors of lava by carefully jumping from one ladder to the next en route to the door at the top of the room. A Guragura guards the final room, where Wario can find another Jet Pot. After defeating the Guragura, Wario must crawl under a low ceiling with lances to reach a giant ! Block. Hitting the block ends the level and demolishes the outer part of Syrup Castle.
