Choco Island 1 is the first course of the Flower Cup in Super Mario Kart, reused as the second course of the Extra Flower Cup in Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Set on Chocolate Island, the course features patches of mud.

Choco Island 1 is a very short course and one lap typically takes not much more than 20 seconds to complete. Its hazards are Piranha Plants which will make the driver slide once contacted. Another obstacle is slippery mud, which makes it difficult to steer. There are also many small bumps in the road, causing karts to automatically hop somewhat, also increasing control difficulty. When driving off the regular road on the darker ground, the kart slows down extremely, unless a mushroom or a star is used. There is only one place where items can be obtained, just after the start.

The course reappears in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and is the second track in the Extra Flower Cup. It uses the background from Sunset Wilds. The Piranha Plant hazards were removed from the track, but an item box can be found at the left side of the wide portion near the end.
