Char-Char
Template:Species-infobox Char-chars[1] are enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They take the appearance of spherical fireballs, and can only be found in the Volcano world, where they appear as a recurring enemy.
Regular Char-chars display a face with a menacing grin and attack by bouncing on platforms, being harmful if touched directly. However, if the Kongs blow air on one or use a barrel against it, the enemy instantly disintegrates. Faceless Char-chars, which behave differently, can be encountered as well.[2] Some either pop out of the lava, revolve in mid-air, or simply fly in a staggered manner. Unlike the regular type, these Char-chars cannot be defeated with an air blow, but a barrel can still be used to defeat them.
Ultra Char-chars, gigantic relatives of Char-chars, are indestructible enemies that can only be encountered in Furious Fire and, exclusively in the 3DS version, Lavawheel Volcano.
