Mega Man is a series of platformers created by Capcom, which star the eponymous blue robot and his successors. The series is one of Capcom's most well-known franchises, and is heavily associated with Nintendo due to its success on the NES and SNES. As such, Mega Man has made sporadic crossover appearances with the Super Mario franchise; while most of these were in the form of tie-in comics and cartoons, the two franchises' first true in-game crossover has been in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
